Lawrenceburg Show

Just finished up a great show in Lawrencerburg, Indiana! 

 

Over the Moon Vintage Market takes places twice a year, and it is packed full of the best shabbies around! Here are some photos from my booth. 

 

There were so many great vendors, but I 

didn't have much time to take many pics of their booths.

 

 

So I took lots of my petite set up! 

 

 It was a holiday show...

 

And this cute little doll house fit right in!

 

Did I mention I have an obsession with old trunks and vintage suitcases?

This old sign is from the original Rudd's Christmas Farm in Blue Creek, Ohio where Mr. and Mrs. Rudd displayed one million lights each holiday season for years. I just love how each piece has a story! 

 

 

I don't care who you are, milk glass is lovely. And it holds a little place in my heart!

 

 

At the end of the show, I finally had time to shop! I found this FABULOUS lace dress and belt from Jessie of Small Town Junk. She has a blog and facebook page too! I think I died and went to heaven at this show! It was a long couple of days, but boy did I have a great time!

 

Can't wait to see everyone again at the next show!

World's Longest Yard Sale

My mom and I were planning on taking a three day road trip along highway 127 to the famous longest yard sale. But when I got scheduled to work the whole weekend of the sale, she made other plans, and I was really bummed. The only glimmer of sunshine in this missed junkin' opportunity, was my ONE day off during the four day sale.

 

So I decided to hit the road for a few hours. Just me and my little dog Bear...

 

We started off in Union, Kentucky and ended up getting it as far as Frankfort, Kentucky. This purple cottage was at one of our stops. How cute is that?! All the way down to the green front door. I also fell in the love with this dresser. Already sold!

Some people were having actual yard sales, while other stops were mostly antique dealers. This old clock face was so neat, but check out the price tag!

 

 

How about this chippy white hutch. The inside shelves made it even better!

 

 

 

This truck was parked at one of the stops. So jealous that someone owns this truck, and that someone is not me!

 

 

Piles of good stuff as long as you don't mind paying dealer prices with this guy.

 

 

 

And my little pup could not wait to get home a take a nap after a full day of adventuring on the back roads of Kentucky!

 

He needs a serious hair cut, and a serious nap in these photos!

Annie Sloan Project

I have been hearing a lot about chalk paint lately, I decided I had to see what it was all about!

 

So I attended a class at Winsome Cottage in Waynesville, Ohio using Annie Sloan chalk paint. A very cute shop by the way! I didn't know anyone else at the class, but I ended up having a blast learning and talking about shab-tiques!

 

I was pretty nervous that my projects wouldn't turn out as good without the instructor, but I was so happy the results I got with this chair!

 

The chair started out looking like this.

 

And after two coats of paint, and one coat of clear wax the chair was transformed!

 

 

 

 

The hardest part was managing to paint the cane sides without getting paint on the fabric. It all worked out, and I will definitely be using this paint for future projects! Thanks for reading.

Junk on my Trunk

 I have got some new inventory this week, including this awesome vintage trunk!

And this white shabby ladder!

Think Spring :)

Even though it is still February, I have been blasting my country music with the heat on and windows down...Pretending that its warm outside. A girl can dream! With this in mind, I added some spring flare to my booth.

In response to the popular closet doors which have been repurposed into a backdrop for my booth, I added some fun chalkboards for spring!

This white cabinet has perfect old chippy paint. And so does that door! Gotta love a good trash pick! They probably thought, "Who is this crazy girl hauling our old door out of the trash!"

Well that is all for my booth, but I also wanted to share some photos I found recently that inspire me and keep me wanting more of this farmhouse cottage dreamy stuff!

First I found this dinning table on Etsy. I believe the shop is called The Painted Cottage. I literally can't stop thinking about this table!

And then I found the same table with distressed legs. Oh Em Gee! If I was buying this, I don't know how I would decide!

I am also pretty obsessed with vintage trucks. Especially pink ones! I would definitely make some bad decisions with my life savings if I ever crossed paths with a truck like this.

I just want to drive this home to my cute little farmhouse and live happily ever after. Is that too much to ask?

New To Booth 112

Check out what's new to my booth this week at the Monmouth Street Antique gallery!

I absolutely love this brown Victorian style chair. 

And this chippy yellow cabinet! 

This shabby chic medicine cabinet is adorable. You could also take the cabinet off and just use it as a mirror.

I also wanted to share some stuff I found while junk hunting with my mom. Because my mom got these for me, I'm going to hold onto them. I love having pieces with a story behind them. Every time I look at this mirror I will think of my mom and the day we spent together. She has great taste, and I can blame her for my addiction to antiques!

And lastly, these angel wings! I have had my eye on these for a long time. I found these at the Gallery of Dreams in downtown Newark, Ohio.

Open for Business

Hey everyone! Rustic Revival is now open for business at the Monmouth Street Antique Gallery in Newport, KY. This shop has just opened five weeks ago, and it is already jam packed full of rusty gold! Come check out my booth!
 

 

The shop is open Monday through Friday 10am-7pm. Saturday 10am-6 pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.
