Over the Moon Holiday Show

The Over the Moon Vintage Market holiday show was a great success! I had so much fun, met some new friends, and also bought some good stuff! I can never leave this show without buying a few things for myself! EVERYTHING always looks amazing! Here are some shots of my booth!

I'm always curious at the start of the show...What will sell first?? I can't remember if it was an industrial mixer or the chippy blue magazine holder. Loved them both :)

This set of lockers was pretty heavy to get in the door, but they flew out the door pretty fast! SOLD!

This blue cabinet was one of my favorite things that I took to the show. It needed some TLC when I found it, and also needed legs. I used milk paint to paint the legs so that I could get an authentically chippy look.

This gray and white piece was a very unique sewing table estate sale find. The sewing machine was missing, but it had really cute pockets on the inside to store stuff. (Too bad I didn't take a picture!)

I turned some old rusty chair springs into a candle holder! It looked cute when it was full of tea lights.

I also turned an old rusty cage into a candle holder. It sits atop my first milk paint project!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you at the next show!

The next Over the Moon Vintage Market will be held at the end of March in Lawrenceburg, Indiana! :)

Up-Cycled Bottles

I found a collection of old bottles at an antique store near my house. There were shelves and shelves of forgotten bottles in the back of the store. (One bottle even had an little letter stuffed inside!) I bought them and wanted to give them a new life! This is what I came up with...
I used burlap and lace, rhinestones from vintage jewelry and some old metal letters that I found at an antique show a while ago.

I think they turned out well, and I had something fun and personalized to take to the Enchanted Summer Market.

More pictures of my booth at the show coming soon!

Over The Moon Vintage Market Spring 2014

Twice a year, there is a "shabbulous" show in Lawrenceburg, Indiana called Over the Moon Vintage Market. There is a whole lot of perfect junk stuffed in Agnar Hall, just waiting to find a home. Awesome vendors and also very good food! Here are some shots of my booth at the Spring 2014 show!

I took some cute gypsy country clothes to the show.

That table is chippy perfection!

Isn't that yellow bed adorable!?

I wish I would have taken a before photo of this trunk. I painted it this awesome teal color (kind of obsessed with teal right now), and the trunk came to life! It was a hit at the show, and it sold!

I also sold several cuff bracelets made from upcycled leather belts, hand dyed lace, and vintage brooches.

My Lacey Gypsy Country Wardrobe

Since I haven't been doing much antiquing lately thanks to the polar vortex, I thought I would share some of my new clothes! As you will see, I have a little bit of a lace addiction these days. I do a lot of my vintage inspired country girl shopping at Buckle. This cute lace dress, however is a recent target find!

And for less than $30, I couldn't pass it up! With antique shows and country concerts only a few months away, I'm sure I'll find somewhere to wear it.

Dress: Target exhilaration $27. Necklace: Buckle Bke $16.

Both of the next two pieces are from Buckle. I love vests, and I think laying different fabrics and textures really adds dimension to your wardrobe.

A lot of these pieces can be mixed and matched, and also incorporated in any season of the year!

Lace and fringe!! I can't help but love it! The tank is from American Eagle, and the vest is from Buckle. I added a couple old brooches for some needed bling.

Here's to accessorizing! I love this 'Born 2 Roam' cuff from the Junk Gypsies. They have a lot of cute jewlery on their website, straight from Texas Y'all!

The leopard belt and lace sleeve shirt above are both from....you guessed it...Buckle!

I had to have this lace top with awesome sleeves! It's from the Gallery of Dreams in Newark, Ohio. Paired it with an old belt from Buckle, and a Silpada necklace.

There's a newer store in Crestview Hills, KY called Altar'd State. The store is packed full of lacey tops, southern style clothes, and cute home accessories. Not the easiest place to shop for your wallet, but for this next piece, it didn't matter. Love at first site...

I wore it with a necklace from Gallery of Dreams.

I went on a hunt for a necklace made from vintage brooches, and this necklace was the next best thing, or better!

Last but not least, another vest from Buckle. The sheer cream top is from Altar'd state, and the belt is from Small Town Junk (as previously mentioned on my blog).

I hope you guys got some enjoyment and inspiration from my wardrobe! Maybe one day I can have my dream come true: a little boutique full of great junk and lacey, fringey, gypsy, country clothes!?

Stay warm!

Junkin' Runs in the Family

After talking to my grandma this weekend, I had to share the story of how junking runs in my family! It turns out that my great great grandpa had a junk yard!

During the Great Depression, Fred Indermuehle of Laclede County, Missouri started a junk yard to supplement his income as a probate judge. With much dismay of his wife, Artie Dell, his yard was full of old cars from the 1930s and 40s. Car parts were hard to come by during this time, so salvaging parts from used cars was good money.

My grandma, Carol Jane Jackson (pictured above) told me stories about playing hide and seek in row after row of old rusty cars when she was a little girl.

She also shared that her grandpa Fred had no teeth!

After begging for the exact address of his old house, I learned that great great grandpa Indermuehle closed down his junk yard the early 1950s. (Sigh!)

Hearing my grandma's stories has always been enjoyable to me. She is a wonderful person and I love her so much. Thanks for sharing Grams! :)

Here's to buying and selling junk!
